Recovery isn’t either/or.

Something I see again and again in recovery is the tug-of-war between mental health and physical health.
“I just need to feel better mentally.”“But I don’t want to focus on weight.”Or…“I’ve restored weight, but I still feel stuck.”
Here’s the thing: one doesn’t exist without the other.
Mental recovery needs physical nourishment.
Physical recovery won’t last without mental healing.
It’s not about choosing one over the other. Recovery means walking both paths at once, with constant support and patience.
It’s hard work — but it’s also how real, lasting freedom from an eating disorder is built.
