Helen has a warm and gentle approach in her counselling and works closely with individuals to provide a safe and supportive space. She utilises a variety of evidence-based treatments including family-based therapy; adolescent parent therapy; schema therapy; individual therapy; Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM) and motivational interviewing. Helen is passionate, empathic, open minded and creates an environment that allows individuals to feel safe and supported to help them take control back of their life.

Eating Disorders

Eating disorders impact not only the individual but also their family. Helen specializes in anorexia nervosa and ARFID, particularly with neurodivergent clients. She also treats bulimia, binge eating disorder, and orthorexia. Our services include family-based therapy, adolescent-focused therapy, individualized counseling, emotion-focused therapy, and ACT.

Parent & Family Counselling

Our Parent and Family Counselling service aims to prevent family breakdowns by helping parents, families, and young people resolve conflicts and improve relationships, especially those impacted by eating disorders. We provide counselling for parents and caregivers, as well as family counselling.

Eating Disorders & Trauma

There is substantial evidence linking eating disorders, particularly bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder, to trauma. Many individuals use these disorders as coping mechanisms to numb painful experiences. Helen adopts a holistic approach to care, helping individuals learn to replace eating disorder behaviors with healthier coping strategies.

We now offer individual therapy for young adults aged 18-30. Our specialization includes anorexia nervosa, ARFID, binge eating disorder, and bulimia. Helen employs a range of treatment modalities.

Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder

Helen is equipped to guide families through this evidence-based approach, which emphasises the critical role of family involvement in supporting children and adolescents with ARFID. Her compassionate, expert-led sessions are designed to empower families to help their loved ones achieve lasting recovery.​

Family Therapy

Family involvement is essential in supporting children and adolescents with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) during recovery. Helen specializes in family-based therapy for ARFID, anorexia nervosa, and bulimia nervosa. She also works with families and parents on relationship issues, communication difficulties, and conflicts.

Emotional Focused Family Therapy

Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) is based on the principles and practices of Emotionally Focused Therapy, aiming to restore connections and promote resilience in family relationships. The primary goal of EFFT is to re-establish secure family dynamics and help repair emotional bonds. Helen is trained in EFFT and incorporates this approach into her therapy work.
