Helen is a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association and registrant of PACFA; Accredited Practising Dietitian and family-based therapist with over 20 years of experience. She specialises in working with children and adolescents with eating disorders (this includes Anorexia Nervosa; Bulimia Nervosa; Binge Eating Disorder; Avoidant Restrictive Eating Disorders (ARFID) & Atypical Anorexia Nervosa (ANN); disordered eating, and body image issues.
As a qualified teacher, counsellor and dietitian, Helen has worked with children, adolescents, and families both in a hospital, school setting and privately for many years. Helen works with children and adolescents presenting with depression, anxiety, trauma, and family separation to help them create a more fulfilling and balanced life. Helen also works with adolescents on issues such as school refusal, addiction, bullying, school transition, friendships and any other issues that may impact their growth and development.
Helen has a warm and gentle approach in her counselling and works closely
with individuals to provide a safe and supportive space. She utilises a variety
of evidence-based treatments including family therapy; individual therapy;
mindfulness; motivational interviewing; adolescent-focused therapy and
emotion-focused therapy.
Helen is passionate, empathic, open-minded and creates an environment
that allows individuals to feel safe and supported to help them take control
back of their life.
